FA Statement from Ed Duckworth, TheFA

In our next step to supporting Level 4 Referees officiating at Step 5&6 of the National League System, I’m pleased to share details of some referee coaching opportunities, which we now welcome applications for. I have attached a role profile which outlines what the role involves. These are voluntary coaching roles, however expenses and recognition payment renumerated.

Can I kindly ask that you advertise this amongst your colleagues and workforce. Anyone who wishes to apply for the role should do so by emailing ed.duckworth@thefa.com marked “FA Step 5&6 Match Day Referee Coach”.

The deadline for applications is Friday 7th October 2022.

York RA online meeting – Thursday 14 January 2021

York RA meeting online – 14 Jan 2021, starting at 1930 hrs

You will soon receive an invite to attend the meeting next Thursday (14 Jan)

There will be an update from the Chairman on local football as well as National RA matters eg. Refs Virtual Summit in conjunction with the PGMOL on 17 Jan

For any non-members wanting to take advantage of RA training zoom events (recently with Howard Webb an Bobby Madley), York RA offers membership until Sept 2021 at a discounted rate of £10 (free to new and first year refs, only £2 for second year refs and £6 for under 18’s)

The brief update will be followed by an evening with Ross Joyce, NRCFA Referee Development Manager

This will provide all referees an update on what the County FA offers, as well as an update on the COVID-19 situation and grassroots football

Ross will also cover various strategies the County develops to help referees……training, support, etc.

Remember, you are not alone and York RA and NRCFA are there to help you where needed

The rest of this season is looking precarious at the moment…..the committee are working hard to ensure that when we are all back onside that dates, venues, subjects, etc are ready as soon as we are allowed to do so

The situation is always fluid and the sooner local football is back on the agenda, the better

If you need any assistance or guidance then please contact any York RA committee member or myself (David King at [email protected])

The Chairman, Alan Kaye,  is always available also at [email protected]

A full list of York RA officers / committee can be found here

Stay safe……
