FA Statement from Ed Duckworth, TheFA

In our next step to supporting Level 4 Referees officiating at Step 5&6 of the National League System, I’m pleased to share details of some referee coaching opportunities, which we now welcome applications for. I have attached a role profile which outlines what the role involves. These are voluntary coaching roles, however expenses and recognition payment renumerated.

Can I kindly ask that you advertise this amongst your colleagues and workforce. Anyone who wishes to apply for the role should do so by emailing ed.duckworth@thefa.com marked “FA Step 5&6 Match Day Referee Coach”.

The deadline for applications is Friday 7th October 2022.

Referee Needed – College Scholarships USA – 20 April

College Scholarships USA are holding an event on 20 April at the University of York, where they are looking to hire a referee for the day.

The event is essentially a trial day for young female football players from ages 15 – 19 where they come and play in an 11-a-sided game.

York RA will be supporting the York Course with referee mentors for the new refs in their early games

Walking Football Tournament

York City Football Club are holding a Walking Football Tournament on Sunday 12 February, 10am – 2:30pm.

They are looking for three referees to officiate at the tournament. A £40 fee will be offered.

Local Charity 6-a-side tournament: 11 September

Can you help by volunteering to referee a local charity tournament? If you are available please email [email protected]
Football Mundial are helping a local charity, SASH organise a tournament & are looking for referees to help out.
SASH are a York based charity that work to prevent vulnerable 16-25 year olds from facing homelessness by offering them a room in the home of a volunteer host across York, North & East Yorkshire. Last year they provided 1357 nights of emergency accommodation to around 400 local young people.
 
Tournament details-
Date: Sunday 11 September
Venue: York Sport Village 3G pitch
Time: 10am-4pm
16 local companies taking part
 
You don’t have to be available all day, if you could do an hour or 2 that would be great.
As well as the football there will be food, bouncy castles, face painting, free swimming for players kids.

Appeal for referees at Woldgate College

Woldgate College are looking for referees for school fixtures starting in September.  They play 4 games at once and usually need 2 or 3 refs per game, most weeks between the beginning of September and the end of October. 
They then have cup fixtures throughout the year, depending on how well the teams do.
Games are usually 30 mins each way, and generally kick off between 4pm and 4.30pm depending on how far the other school has to travel.
It is Woldgate College in Pocklington.
