Minutes of the Annual General Meeting – 7 May 2015

Minutes of AGM held on 7th May 2015
at NHS Club, with 11 members present.

This was lowest attendance in the minutes which go back to 1964.

The chairman opened the AGM by saying that the CFA were holding a promotions seminar along with the local FA finals .

Apologies were received from Mssrs; C Ledgeway; Unwin; G Hartley; Smith; Luff; McEvoy; P Ballantyne; Ham; Bishop; Suchecki; Godson; Allanby; Shiers; and Greenway.

Mins last AGM were read, no matters arising.

Secretary’s Report, was given no matters arising.

Treasurers Report, Dave King gave a report saying we were in a healthy position.

Election of Officers, committee was elected as follows;

Secretary’s Report May 2014

Another season gone.  There was an improvement in membership up to 72 (65 last season). Meeting attendances averaged out at 26 which is roughly a third of the membership, with a good turnout of our younger members attending (then everyone is younger to me).

I think we had a varied spectrum of speakers, with PGMOL referee coach Graham Laws, Ross Joyce CFA RDO, Michael Ingham, York City (though once again the jinx appears after attending our meetings), Syd Nye training officer standing in at late notice, Head of PE at St Johns (amongst other positions) Mark Sullivan, our own Dave King and the quiz presented by Tony Thornton. Though the April meeting  with nothing arranged went well with numerous topics raised and discussed.

Dinner, we had Sharon Shortle, Radio York presenter as guest. Meal was not to everyone’s  taste, with a few complaints. The entertainment made up for it, thanks to Glynn. Colin Fawcett was presented with his RA 50 year membership award. Sam Bayley received the chairman’s award.

The Lol Cussons evening went well, it would be nice if a few more members could attend.

We attained a RA Quest Bronze Award for our procedures and administration.

Thanks go to all committee for their efforts during the season and also to donated prizes, sold raffle tickets , posed problems and assisted in any way.

Congratulations to all who gained promotions and received final appointments for their efforts during the season.

Sept 4…Oct 2…Nov 6…Dec 4…Jan 8 ?…Feb 5…Mar 5…Apr 2…May 7.

Anyone who has contacts with someone who they feel will make an evening’s  guest please let me know.

At NHS Club with 22 members present.

Apologies, were received from Mssrs ; G Hartley; Bradbury; Godson; Shiers; Bishop; Coote; Allenby; and B Ballantyne.

Mins of Last AGM were read and accepted with no matters arising.

Secretary’s Report was accepted.

Treasurers Report, due to the Paypal system of on line payment the report was given verbally by Dave King. We are in a healthy position and balance sheet will be ready for September meeting.

Election of Officers. There was a new position created of a membership secretary to ease the treasurers workload, also two new candidates had been put forward for committee. The committee was elected  en block;

19 members present

A minute’s silence was held for Rosemary Fawcett, wife of life member Colin and ex member George Revely.

Apologies were received from Mssrs Bishop, Bradbury, B & J Ballantyne, Godson, Sutton, Butcher, G Ellwood, Blakey, Simpson, Hawksby and Ms Humphrys.

Minutes of last AGM were read and accepted with no matters arising.

Secretary’s Report, was given and accepted. Congratulations given to Jonny Ham on his level 4 promotion.

Treasurer’s Report was given and discussed, pig race night was a tremendous success. Thanks given to treasurer and Dave King for keeping all in order.

Election of Officers, Don Thorpe requested to stand down as CRA delegate, B Smith said he would stand. There being no other nominations for any positions it was passed to vote the following en bloc; President/Sec Ian Hotchkies; Chairman /Treasurer John Ledgeway; Vice chair Paul Ballantyne; Training Officer David King; Committee Peter Cook, Joe Ballantyne; Dave Milburn; Geoff Hartley; Glyn Ellwood; Sam Bayley; Brian Smith. A.O.B. there was a discussion on how to stop the fall in membership.
